Launching Care Forward: a new model to raise standards in the domestic worker industry

Care Forward Launch Flyer Twitter.png

After the powerful victory of Intro 339 bringing domestic workers into NYC human rights law, we are moving the care economy to a level never seen before. Care Forward is a new initiative to raise standards neighborhood by neighborhood, shifting the practices of employers and domestic workers to raise and enforce domestic worker rights! Carroll Gardens and Park Slope could be the first communities in the country to use transformative justice and standards-raising boards to shift the culture of care community-wide. Press Conference at 1:45 speakers will include State Senator Jabari Brisport, Councilmember Brad Lander, other elected officials, domestic workers, and employers. Events will include nutrition games, dance, yoga, bodywork, art, photo booths, and other spaces for children, caregivers, employers, and our whole community to join us in launching this vision! RSVP at bit.ly/careforwardlaunch or contact Ben Fuller-Googins at bfgoogins@cganyc.org with questions.
