Building a democratic organization: Introducing the CGNA Steering Committee!

When we say we are building a member-led organization we mean putting it into practice. After launching our dues-paying membership this year (with 350 members and counting) we moved into a process of creating the Association’s first steering committee, a non-hierarchical, multilingual decision-making body that provides strategic direction and leadership to guide our overall mission and operation. Click here to learn more background about the Committee. After a nomination process open to any dues-paying member, candidates prepared short written testimonies and gave speeches at a member meeting, followed by a week of voting. Over 150 members voted for 8 of the 12 members, creating our first Steering Committee!
