Carroll Gardens Association, Inc. is partnering with the Crime Prevention Division of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office to open a Neighborhood Office at the newly renovated CGA premises, located at 201 Columbia Street. The Kings County DA’s Neighborhood Office will commence operations on March 14, 2010. The Carroll Gardens Association site will be joining a network of 32 other Neighborhood Offices throughout the Borough of Brooklyn.
Neighborhood Offices are open so that community residents can come in and speak with trained professionals if they need assistance. The DA’s Office counselor could also provide referral services to other City agencies. The Neighborhood Office could assist residents in such areas as:
- Keeping your child in school
- Protecting and empowering seniors
- Family justice
- Immigrant safety
- Support for parolees
- Safe lending and borrowing
- Safe housing
- Drug Treatment
- Alternatives to prison, and
- Helping your family member, neighbor or friend.
A trained professional would be available from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Mondays at the Kings County DA’s Neighborhood Office at Carroll Gardens Association.
